Time Changes: Effective March 1, 2018

In order to accommodate an upcoming expansion project into several additional neighborhoods we have had to alter the times for several existing markets.  The Wilmerding, Duquesne, and Glassport markets are all affected by the new schedule.  The Northside market has unfortunately been eliminated from our schedule.  The calendar below has been updated with all of the new times.  We are going to be introducing new markets on a rolling basis.

Green Grocer is a mobile farmers market that is designed to travel into food desert communities to provide the fresh food options that are currently missing from the landscape. By selling fresh, healthy foods at an affordable price Green Grocer will help to alleviate food inequity by creating access. Everyone is welcome to shop at the market and we will be accepting multiple forms of payment, including SNAP/EBT.

What is a Food Desert?

Food deserts are defined as neighborhoods that do not have ready access to fresh, healthy, affordable food. Food deserts are communities that lack things like grocery stores, farmers markets, and other healthful food options.
