Volunteers within the Sorting Center inspect, sort, and repackage thousands of pounds of food each week. This support is essential to the distribution of food to our neighbors in need throughout our community. Located in the Food Bank’s main facility in Duquesne, PA, volunteering in the Sorting Center is a great opportunity to learn more about the scale of our work in Southwestern Pennsylvania.
The Sorting Center is open Monday – Friday from 9:00 p.m. – 12:00 p.m. The volunteer opportunity is open to individuals, as well as volunteer groups. Participants must be 12 years or older to sign-up. All minors must be accompanied by an adult. Volunteers are required to wear masks and closed toed shoes to participate.
