Ever wonder what happens to the produce that goes unsold at Farmers’ Markets?
In many neighborhoods, our member agencies or volunteers are ready and waiting to take it to our neighbors in need while it’s still fresh and delicious via our Farmers Market Connection Program!
This program shrank to a single market in 2020 due to the pandemic, and we are actively rebuilding it, leveraging help from Food Bank volunteers trained to safely transport market leftovers to participating agencies. Interested in helping us expand this program by becoming a pickup/delivery volunteer? Click here for Volunteer Opportunities.
Each participating Farm / Vendor is receipted separately for their donations, and we’ve recognized recent donors at the bottom of this page.
PS: All participating Markets accept and support SNAP and FMNP coupons through Just Harvest’s Fresh Access program. This helps even more families access fresh, healthy food, and it puts money back into the local economy and into local agriculture.
