Onsites are required to complete Allegheny County Health Department or equivalent certification (ServSafe). The Food Bank will pay for two individuals to be re-certified once every five years. Food pantries are required to watch a series of videos developed by the Food Bank and take a short knowledge quiz. This training can only be completed online and the certifications are valid for three years. Please follow the steps below to complete or renew your certification:
You will know automatically if you passed or failed the test. Those who fail the test may take it again at any time, and those who pass will receive a certificate in the mail within one month of the test date.
