Crush the Commonwealth to Crush Hunger

Every year, Crush the Commonwealth, an underground organized cycling race spanning the 380 miles between Philadelphia and Pittsburgh, tests the wills of 30-40 of the most hardcore long-distance riders (a category Erik Thogerson, Jeremiah Sullivan, and Dan Ross don’t quite fit). The race is held on the last weekend of April which can have unpredictable temperatures, strong winds, and sudden downpours. The National Association of Letter Carriers’ “Stamp Out Hunger” Campaign is the largest one-day food drive in the nation, collecting more than 70 million pounds of food each year. The 26th Annual Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive is on Saturday, May 12, 2018.
