2019 PFDS Ice Bowl Fundraiser

Time to bust out your warmest hats and mittens - It's the annual Pittsburgh Flying Disc Society Ice Bowl Fundraiser to benefit the Food Bank! The annual Empty Bowls dinner serves up a simple meal of soup and bread as a reminder that too many people throughout our region are facing hunger with “empty bowls”. This year’s event benefiting Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank and Just Harvest will feature artisan pottery for guests to take home, soups from local restaurants, children’s activities and an auction featuring artwork and celebrity-autographed bowls. Scouting for Food is the Boy Scouts of America-Laurel Highlands Council’s annual food drive, the largest of the spring season. Scouts collect food in their neighborhoods and many conscientious corporations participate by collecting food or hosting a Virtual Food Drive. Stamp Out Hunger

The National Association of Letter Carriers’ “Stamp Out Hunger” Campaign is the largest one-day food drive in the nation, collecting more than 70 million pounds of food each year. The 27th Annual Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive is on Saturday, May 11, 2019.
