    Empty Bowls 2018

    The annual Empty Bowls dinner serves up a simple meal of soup and bread as a reminder that too many people throughout our region are facing hunger with “empty bowls”.     Based on the successful and popular Macaron Day Paris and Macaron Day NYC, Pittsburgh is proud to celebrate our second annual Macaron Day PGH in 2018. ​ Every year on March 20th, participating bakeries give one free macaron to every visitor, no purchase necessary!     2018 Scouting for Food

    Scouting for Food is the Boy Scouts of America-Laurel Highlands Council’s annual food drive, the largest of the spring season. Scouts collect food in their neighborhoods and many conscientious corporations participate by collecting food or hosting a Virtual Food Drive.     Crush the Commonwealth to Crush Hunger

    Every year, Crush the Commonwealth, an underground organized cycling race spanning the 380 miles between Philadelphia and Pittsburgh, tests the wills of 30-40 of the most hardcore long-distance riders (a category Erik Thogerson, Jeremiah Sullivan, and Dan Ross don’t quite fit).
