2019 Scouting for Food

April 1 - April 30

Scouting for Food is the Boy Scouts of America-Laurel Highlands Council’s annual food drive, the largest of the spring season. Scouts collect food in their neighborhoods and many conscientious corporations participate by collecting food or hosting a Virtual Food Drive. Stamp Out Hunger

The National Association of Letter Carriers’ “Stamp Out Hunger” Campaign is the largest one-day food drive in the nation, collecting more than 70 million pounds of food each year. The 27th Annual Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive is on Saturday, May 11, 2019. Highmark Walk for a Healthy Community

The Highmark Walk for a Healthy Community is an annual fundraising walk that benefits local health and human service agencies. The primary goal of the walk is to help participating organizations raise money for their individual missions. In 2018, the Highmark Walk for a Healthy Community raised a record-breaking $1.5 million for the 211 participating organizations. Canstruction 2019

Canstruction is a unique charity which hosts competitions, exhibitions and events showcasing colossal structures made entirely out of full cans of food. After the structures are built, the creations go on display to the public as a giant art exhibit. At the end of the event, all food is donated to local hunger relief organizations, including the Food Bank.
