CEO Lisa Scales calling her Congressman

Here’s what to do:

1. Take a deep breath – making this type of phone call is a lot easier than most people think and is incredibly important in helping members of Congress make decisions about how to vote.

2. Call the toll-free number 1-888-398-8702.

3. Listen to the pre-recorded message. When asked, type in your zip code to find out who your members of Congress are. Then follow the instructions to be connected to their office.

4. When the person picks up the phone, tell them your name and where you live and then deliver a message like the one below:

I am calling to ask [Representative or Senator’s name] to support a strong child nutrition bill that provides more flexibility for the Summer Food Service Program, which will help more children access meals when they are not in school. Thank you for your time.

You can also reach out to your members of Congress via Twitter.
