Speak out, be heard!

If you live in Armstrong, Butler or Lawrence Counties and participated in our Paper Plate Campaign – thank you!

Your paper plate messages were delivered – all 360 of them – to your elected representative U.S. Congressman Mike Kelly’s office in Washington, D.C. last week.

Rep. Mike Kelly staff and paper plates

Congressman Mike Kelly’s Chief of Staff, Matthew Stroia and Policy Director & Tax Counsel, Lori Prater with their favorite plates.

When you speak out against hunger, your stories, comments and voices ARE heard. But we still need more people to speak up. We want as many people as possible to tell the officials we elect to represent us that you care about the issue of hunger and want them to make changes so no child ever goes hungry in the United States of America.

If you’re interested in hosting your own paper plate project, contact Rachel Schneider at 412-460-3663 x305 or at rschneider@pittsburghfoodbank.org.

A special thank you to those individuals and organizations who helped with the project in Congressman Kelly’s district:

  • Children and volunteers at New Castle summer food sites affiliated with Lawrence County Community Action Partnership (LCCAP)
  • New Castle Area School District – junior and senior high schools
  • Produce to People recipients
