Did you know less than 20% of kids who get free or reduced-price school meals are accessing summer meals? That number could be much higher with a few policy changes — and you can help make it happen.

Join thousands of hunger-relief supporters across the country for a national call-in day today. Urge Congress to pass a strong child nutrition bill to ensure all children in America get the nutrition they need year-round.

Join Karissa in telling our members of Congress why child nutrition programs are important to you.

Call Congress today. It’s easy! Here’s how:

1. Call the toll-free number 888-398-8702. Listen to the pre-recorded message which will give you instructions.

2. Type in your zip code. Then connect to one of your senators (the message will provide your members of Congress’ names).

3. Once connected to your first Senator’s office, tell them your name, your home town and that you are calling about child nutrition programs. Then deliver the message below. *Please make sure you call back to speak to both Senators and your U.S. Representative.

“I am calling today to ask [SENATOR or REPRESENTATIVE NAME] to vote for a child nutrition bill that includes priorities like streamlining the summer and after school meals programs, providing a summer EBT program to help families in the summer, and a non-congregate meal option in the summer so program operators can reach kids who can’t access summer meal sites. Less than 20% of children who get free or reduced-price meals at school access summer meal programs. These changes to the program can help feed more kids in our community. Thank you for your time.”

Your participation in this effort can make a real difference in providing a better future for the kids in our community. Thank you!
