Pittsburgh Blues Festival

Pittsburgh Blues Festival – The Food Bank’s biggest fundraising event of the year. Pittsburgh Blues Festival takes place in July at Hartwood Acres, and features the best in national and local blues musicians, like Koko Taylor, Johnny Winter, Pinetop Perkins, John Mayall, Clarence “Gatemouth” Brown, Keb Mo, Buddy Guy, Susan Tedeschi, Blind Boys of Alabama, R.L. Burnside, Ana Popovic, the Fabulous Thunderbirds, John Hammond, Marcia Ball, and too many others to name!

Over the past twelve years the Blues Festival has grown, and moved from the South Side to Pittsburgh Brewing Company to Hartwood to accommodate the crowds. These music fans know that all the proceeds go to feed hungry people; when great music joins a great cause, how can you lose? Good food and beer; the KidZone with crafts, snacks, games, music lessons and other fun; merchandise; family-friendly and 2006’s introduction of FREE Friday with donation of a bag of groceries have made Pittsburgh Blues Festival named one of the top 10 Bluesfests in the country, and helped the Food Bank raised more than $668,000.
