Max Starks & Friends Thanksgiving Food Drive
Max Starks & Friends Thanksgiving Food Drive – Pittsburgh Steeler Offensive Tackle Max Starks helps local families have a very Happy Thanksgiving by distributing turkeys and all the fixins for a great meal to some families in need.
The tradition began when ex-Steeler Antwaan Randle El and his brother Curtiss phoned the Food Bank one day and said they had an idea. They wanted to buy some turkeys for local families and would the Food Bank help them drive around some low-income neighborhoods in a truck and give them away? When Randle El left the Steelers, Max and his mom stepped up to the plate for hunger. And you know, frozen turkeys are heavy, so Max brought along some of his Steeler pals, like Charlie Batch (and his mom!). Usually held the Tuesday before Thanksgiving, look for Max and his friends at Dicks Sporting Goods at the Mall at Robinson – and don’t forget it’s also a food drive!
