KD Turkey Fund – More than 25 years ago, KDKA-TV personality Al Julius was given a ten-dollar bill by a listener with instructions to “give this to a local family in need so they can have a happy Thanksgiving with a real turkey dinner,” and the KD Turkey Drive was born. Over ten million dollars later, with continuing leadership from KDKA, National City Bank and KDKA news personalities Wayne Van Dyne and Yvonne Zanos, tens of thousands of struggling families have been able to gather with their families over a decent holiday meal.
