The Food Bank’s 350+ member agencies are the front line of hunger relief, directly serving those in need. They are food pantries, shelters for the homeless or for battered women and their children, soup kitchens, senior high rises, MH/MR drop-in facilities, Partner Distribution Organizations (PDO’s), elder daycare centers, public housing developments and after school programs. They determine client eligibility using established guidelines, place food orders with the Food Bank and often pick them up, hold food distribution sessions, and keep records of service, often entirely with volunteers. Without this network of dedicated partners, the Food Bank could not carry out its mission.
