Your Voice Can Help Hungry Pennsylvanians

Advocacy List

Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank is working with groups throughout Pennsylvania to make certain that our Governor understands the importance of the State Food Purchase Program (SFPP) as he prepares his budget for FY 2014 – 2015. One very important way of doing this is to provide him with a clear statement of support for SFPP signed by Pennsylvanians. If this effort is to be successful, we need your help.

Using your voice to speak out against hunger is as easy as 1-2-3:

1. Visit Hunger-Free PA's website to find a copy of the e-mail message we developed to send directly to the Governor.

2. If you agree with the e-mail message, fill in the required fields.

3. Click 'Send to Gov. Corbett'

It's that easy to use your voice to help hungry Pennsylvanians and PA's food banks.

You also help spread the word by encouraging your friends, family and colleagues to participate in this important effort. The more individual support we can demonstrate, the more likely it is that SFPP will receive adequate funding in next year's state budget.

One more thing you can do: If you're not already registered, please take a moment to sign up for Feeding America's online advocacy system (enter email address under 'Demonstrate Your Values'). You will receive emails and action alerts about issues related to hunger at the state and federal level.

Thank you for taking a few moments out of your day to help protect and strengthen this vital nutrition assistance program.
