Urge Governor to Increase Funding for SFPP
Since the beginning of the recession, Pennsylvania's State Food Purchase Program (SFPP) appropriation has dropped by 7.5%. During this same period, the need for food assistance has risen dramatically - by nearly 43% - and food banks in Pennsylvania are struggling to meet the demand.
Governor Corbett can help by recommending adequate funding for the SFPP. To continue to make vital nutritional assistance available to our neighbors struggling with hunger, Pennsylvania's food bank and other charitable food assistance providers need a strong SFPP.
Please help ensure Pennsylvania's charitable food providers are adequately stocked to serve those in need by sending an email to Governor Corbett urging him to support a strong State Food Purchase Program.
