National School Breakfast Week
Representative Gwen Moore from Wisconsin recently introduced H. Res. 153, a resolution expressing recognition of National School Breakfast Week and the importance of the School Breakfast Program for the short and long-term health of our nation's children.
The text of the resolution touches on important points such as the effect the economic downturn has had on the number of children in need and that studies have shown that children who receive breakfasts have higher rates of academic performance in school.
The resolution was referred to the House Committee on Education and the Workforce on March 8, 2011. Click here to read more about this resolution.
