Pennsylvania 09-10 Budget

Advocacy List

Join the Effort to Fight Hunger Through the PA State Budget for 09-10

The Food Bank is working with our partners* in an effort to impress upon our state legislature the importance of Pennsylvania’s anti-hunger programs when they consider the 09-10 state budget.

The goal is the allocation of adequate resources for 5 state programs that play a role in helping to meet the needs of the 1,200,000 Pennsylvanians struggling with hunger and food insecurity.

You can play an important role in this effort by signing a letter of support for these programs to your State Senator and your State Representative.

In mid-May, we will hand deliver your letters along with those of others in your community who want Pennsylvania’s budget to reflect our concern for children, seniors, people with disabilities, the working poor and other vulnerable Pennsylvanians.

If you would like to help – here’s what you do:

1.  Print out 2 copies of this letter.

2.  Address one to your State Senator and one to your State
Representative (Dear Senator Jones and Dear Representative
Smith). If you need help identifying your officials, click here.
You do not need to write down their mailing addresses.

3.  Sign the letters.

4.  Print your name and home address at the bottom of each letter.

5.  Mail the completed letters to the Food Bank:
GPCFB, Attn: Dennis McManus, 1 N Linden St, Duquesne,
PA 15110. (Please Do NOT mail the letters to your Senator
    or Representative).

Thank you for your consideration.
